Lowland and corn, here and there wine, continued from Venezia on to Ravenna. And equally did continue the kilometres of mass tourism around the shore.
The ride through a lowland, wind from the back and on a main road continued pretty quickly. But with Ravenna coming nearer the car and truck traffic started to be unpleasant. So I took an unplanned “shortcut”, adding around extra 30 km. But I did not regret: via a town of Comacchio I got to a large lake (or actually a network of salt lakes and sweetwater channels), large part of that I rode over a dike running just through the waters, I swimmed among flamengos and seagulls, took a local village ferry…
After a visit of Ravenna I turned once more to the beaches – and during that I crossed my Rubikon. Next time I should take some dice with me.
